George Lucas opens Los Angeles museum dedicated to popular art beyond Star Wars
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens to the public on September 22, housing work by populist painters, commercial illustrators and comic artists alongside Star Wars artifacts. George Lucas said the museum, conceived 17 years ago, represents a mission to elevate familiar creative work normally overlooked by major institutions, with Star Wars content occupying just 7 percent of the 100,000-square-foot space.
