Scientists observe possible hints of dark matter in South Dakota experiment
Researchers at an underground facility in South Dakota have documented a particle interaction that may represent the first hint of dark matter detection. The observation occurred in the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment, which uses 10 tons of liquid xenon to search for weakly interacting massive particles, or WIMPs, one of the leading candidates for dark matter.
