Merz warns AfD victory in Saxony-Anhalt would deter foreign investors

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said a far-right AfD victory in next week's Saxony-Anhalt regional election would damage the state and deter foreign companies from investing there. The AfD holds 42% support in recent polling, compared with 22% for Merz's Christian Democrats, with the election set for September 6.
