Norwegians gather at churches to mourn King Harald as son Haakon assumes throne
King Harald V died two days before August 30, with his son King Haakon VIII, 53, attending a memorial service in Asker as churches across Norway held tributes. Norway has entered an official mourning period. On September 1, Haakon will take the parliamentary oath of allegiance.
