Pogačar abandons Vuelta a España after crash on stage eight

Tadej Pogačar withdrew from the Vuelta a España on stage eight after a crash with 32 kilometres remaining, ending his bid for a seventh grand tour title. Enric Mas inherited the race lead, moving ahead of Felix Gall by one minute. Pogačar sustained injuries including a head trauma and left shoulder wound and was evacuated by ambulance.
