Iran's leaders acknowledge war's economic toll as US tightens sanctions

Iranian leaders are acknowledging the economic cost of war with the United States. The president has reported that American sanctions and blockade have reduced foreign trade by a third, while the government vowed Saturday to withstand US pressure and pursue diplomacy. Washington intensified financial penalties including sanctions on Egypt's Banque Misr for conducting business with Tehran.
