Warren Buffett steps down as Berkshire chairman, son Howard takes over
Warren Buffett, 96, has stepped down as chairman of Berkshire Hathaway effective immediately and will serve as chairman emeritus while remaining on the board in an advisory capacity. His son Howard Buffett, a director since 1993, succeeds him as chairman, following Greg Abel's earlier appointment as CEO.
