1 h agoU.S. President Donald Trump on September 13 called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to halt attacks on Russia's diesel fuel infrastructure, saying the strikes were contributing to a global diesel shortage. Trump's own war against Iran has knocked out more than 20% of Middle Eastern refining capacity and effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, which previously carried roughly a fifth of global oil supplies.

2 h agoA ferry carrying more than 240 people sank off Indonesia's coast on Sunday during rough seas and poor weather. Rescue crews recovered more than 100 passengers, but at least six people died and approximately 130 remain missing.

Ukrainian officials said the attacks represent Russian terror directed at NATO and the European Union, as multiple border crossings through which military and humanitarian aid flows came under fire.

7 h agoThe Iran-backed Houthis said they attacked a military base in southern Saudi Arabia, targeting weapons storage and command facilities. Yemen government forces said they shot down five Houthi drones in separate operations, as accounts emerged of severe staffing shortages in Yemeni battalions that faced a Houthi takeover in the port city of Mocha on Thursday.

9 h agoAlexei Likhachev, head of Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, said Ukrainian forces launched strikes on Friday against diesel fuel trucks supplying the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, killing two Russian servicemen and injuring others. The plant, Europe's largest with six reactors, relies on diesel generators to cool nuclear fuel when external power links are down.
