French federation upholds Bordeaux relegation to sixth tier

The French Football Federation's special executive committee confirmed Thursday that Bordeaux will play in the sixth tier after a Paris court upheld sanctions for financial irregularities. The club failed to provide roughly 10 million euros needed for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 financial years, and the federation declined to reopen the case despite French sports minister Marina Ferrari's appeal.
