Shas leader says army does not want haredi soldiers
Aryeh Deri, chairman of the Shas party, said the Israeli Defence Forces does not want haredi soldiers and called the issue a decades-long eye-catching exercise. In a radio interview, Deri claimed the army finds haredi conscription troublesome and prefers a secular military.
