China reopens Tibet highway to Nepal a week after glacier disaster
The G216 national highway to Gyirong, washed away by mudslides and floods from an Aug 26 glacier collapse, is now fully passable. Heavy machinery can finally reach the disaster zone, where rescue teams had relied on airdrops and soldiers with detection gear to search for survivors.
