Congress approves stopgap spending measure as midterm elections near
Lawmakers voted 370-48 on Tuesday to extend federal spending through December 11, forwarding the measure to President Donald Trump. The temporary bill staves off a shutdown while Congress remains unable to finalize any of the 12 spending bills required for fiscal year 2027.
