Ed Markey wins Massachusetts Democratic primary, fending off age challenge

Senator Ed Markey, 80, won the Massachusetts Democratic primary on Tuesday, defeating congressman Seth Moulton, who had argued the incumbent was too old to be effective. Massachusetts is heavily Democratic, making Markey the favorite to win a third full term in November against Republican nominee John Deaton.
