Glentoran advances past Linfield as defending champions Carrick Rangers exit

Glentoran defeated Linfield 3-1 in the County Antrim Shield's opening round at their home ground, with Jordan Jenkins scoring twice in the opening six minutes. Defending champions Carrick Rangers exited the competition after losing to Crusaders in a penalty shootout.
