Former cycling coach sentenced to five years for sexual assault of minors

William Bastit, 49, was sentenced to five years in prison, one year to be served immediately, for sexual assault of minors in Clamart. He forced a 13-year-old boy to perform oral sex in 2009 and sent obscene messages to approximately ten other minors. Bastit, who was vice-president of a commission at the French Cycling Federation before the offences, has been permanently banned from working with minors.
