Poland pivots to homegrown defence production while building Europe's largest army

Poland is shifting toward domestic and central European defence production to reduce reliance on distant suppliers. Domestic defence procurement spending jumped to 30.4 billion zlotys last year, more than triple the 2022 level. The country is projected to allocate around €53 billion to core defence this year, placing it fourth in EU spending.
