Édouard Balladur, former French prime minister, dies at 97
Édouard Balladur, who served as French prime minister from 1993 to 1995, died on Monday at age 97, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced. Balladur, a conservative, served under Socialist President François Mitterrand and was a central figure of the French right.
