Venezuela's interim leader defends US oil deal as sovereignty retained

Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela's interim President, defended in a televised address a 25-year agreement with the United States involving 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan crude. Rodriguez said the deal aims to allow Venezuela to develop its oil industry while preserving "ownership of and sovereignty" over its resources, despite the US having majority control over the reserves.
