Leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland sign independence accord
Leaders from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland—John Swinney of the SNP, Rhun ap Iorwerth of Plaid Cymru, and Michelle O'Neill of Sinn Féin—signed a joint memorandum Monday in Cardiff asserting the right to self-determination and stating no Westminster government has the right to block democracy. They said the future of their nations lies in the European Union.
