27 min agoTom Tiffany and his pilot lost power in their aircraft while approaching Wausau Downtown Airport and made an emergency water landing on Lake Wausau in central Wisconsin. Both swam to safety as the plane submerged and were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Tiffany is the Republican nominee for Wisconsin governor.

2 h agoU.S. President Donald Trump on September 13 called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to halt attacks on Russia's diesel fuel infrastructure, saying the strikes were contributing to a global diesel shortage. Trump's own war against Iran has knocked out more than 20% of Middle Eastern refining capacity and effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, which previously carried roughly a fifth of global oil supplies.

Yemen government forces said they shot down five Houthi drones in separate operations, as accounts emerged of severe staffing shortages in Yemeni battalions that faced a Houthi takeover in the port city of Mocha on Thursday.
