6 h agoAlexei Likhachev, head of Russia's state nuclear energy corporation, said Ukrainian forces launched strikes on Friday against diesel fuel trucks supplying the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, killing two Russian servicemen and injuring others. The plant, Europe's largest with six reactors, relies on diesel generators to cool nuclear fuel when external power links are down.

7 h agoA passenger ship carrying 243 people lost contact in the Java Sea early on Sunday during bad weather. The Virgo Transport 8 had departed from Surabaya bound for Banjarmasin when it ran into the storm. Rescuers evacuated 103 people, one of whom died, and deployed teams, ships and a helicopter to search for the 140 still missing.
