France refers budget leak to prosecutors

The leaked work concerned possible taxation of employee savings plans. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu's office stated he had never supported the idea.

2 h agoU.S. President Donald Trump threatened to bar Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier from selling planes in the United States unless it begins manufacturing there. Trump said on Truth Social that Bombardier products are not good enough and that the company must build in America or stop treating it as a piggybank.

2 h agoFrancesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, warned Monday that large-scale rubble removal under Israeli control in Gaza risks erasing traces of alleged atrocity crimes and preventing recovery of human remains. Palestinian authorities estimate more than 10,000 people remain buried under debris in the territory.

The portal includes a simulator to help applicants determine which properties they qualify for, with 1,500 additional homes planned to be added soon.

2 h agoBernie Ecclestone, 95, was detained at a Portuguese airport on Monday after customs and police found him in possession of a shotgun for which he lacked the required documentation. Ecclestone said he intended to use the weapon in a clay pigeon shooting competition and surrendered it after questioning, though he denied being arrested.

The Balkan state joins a short list of countries committing to send peacekeepers to the Palestinian enclave.

Israel's continued military operations are challenging Lebanon's push for a peace agreement. A hydrogeologist said more than half the destroyed area in southern Lebanon is vulnerable to contamination from war-related pollutants.

4 h agoSaudi Arabia is preparing to grant the IAEA additional verification and monitoring powers over uranium enrichment, uranium conversion, and reprocessing, though it will not sign the Additional Protocol that gives the UN watchdog sweeping inspection rights. The arrangement follows a July US-Saudi civil nuclear cooperation agreement permitting Riyadh to enrich uranium and build reactors using American technology.
