President Joseph Aoun called on the US and international community to stop the attacks. Israel said the strikes targeted Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in response to a Hezbollah drone attack on Israeli troops.

4 h agoThe Trump administration renewed its appeal to the US Supreme Court on Sunday to allow restrictions on mail-in voting as states begin sending ballots for November's midterm elections. A federal judge had blocked the restrictions on Friday, extending a court order that prevents the US Postal Service from enforcing an executive order on the matter.

4 h agoCharles Leclerc crashed heavily at Parabolica on the second lap of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza on September 6, 2026, forcing the race to halt and restart after a half-hour delay for tyre wall repairs. Leclerc started third but Lewis Hamilton forced him wide into the gravel at the first corner; Leclerc then suffered wheelspin, touched the white line and skewed off at speed.

5 h agoAinsley Maitland-Niles scored in the 95th minute on his Everton debut to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday. Manchester United had led twice through Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, but Everton equalised through Tyrique George before Maitland-Niles' late strike preserved their unbeaten start to the season.
