British army halts non-essential training to manage budget pressures

The British army has ordered units not preparing for deployment to halt non-essential training exercises. Collective training for UK-based units is being suspended for most of this year due to budget pressures, though troops preparing for deployment or in quick-reaction roles will continue training as normal.
