Federal safety agency monitoring Tesla's driverless taxi launches in Austin
Tesla has started offering rides in Austin's limited areas using its Cybercab, a two-seat robotaxi stripped of steering wheel, pedals and mirrors—components normally mandated by federal safety standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is assessing the deployment.
