The Justice Department asked the Supreme Court on Thursday to lift a judge's temporary block on a new US Postal Service regulation tightening mail-in ballot standards ahead of November's midterm elections. The rule, adopted following a Trump executive order, would impose new voter-specific data requirements and ballot envelope standards, and could refuse delivery of ballots that do not comply.
