Nicéphore Niépce's first photograph returns to France for bicentenary

Point de vue du Gras, a tin-plate landscape taken in 1827 and considered the oldest surviving photograph made with a camera obscura, will be displayed in France for the first time. The image will be shown from late April to late June 2027 at the museum in Chalon-sur-Saône as part of an exhibition marking two centuries since the invention of photography.
