Syria begins destroying Assad-era chemical weapons stockpile
Syria has begun destroying remnants of a clandestine chemical weapons program from the Assad era that it recovered in May, according to a Syrian envoy and a United Nations representative. The destruction marks the first such operation in over a decade.
