Nobel Prize-winning chemist Hideki Shirakawa dies at 90

Hideki Shirakawa, who won the 2000 Nobel Prize in chemistry for developing conductive polymers, has died at 90. His work with Alan Heeger and Alan MacDiarmid showed that plastics could function as electrical conductors, opening doors to modern electronics and touch-screen technology.
