Nvidia to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 billion

Nvidia has agreed to buy Hugging Face, the online platform for open-source AI models and datasets founded in 2016, for $12.93 billion. The platform had previously rejected a major investment from the chipmaker to maintain its independence. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the acquisition will expand access to AI for developers and institutions worldwide.
