Malta acquits businessman Yorgen Fenech in murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia
A court in Valletta acquitted Maltese businessman Yorgen Fenech of complicity in the 2017 car-bomb killing of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia after a jury voted 8-1 in his favor on both charges. Fenech had spent more than five years in preventive detention after his arrest in November 2019 before being released on bail in February 2025.
